Michigan approx. 1/4 mile north of Pierce Rd.  Turn right on Crane Rd.  Take Crane down about 3/4 mile to just over the I-75 overpass.  Turn left on Venoy, and it's down about 1/2 mile on the left.  The Wild Woods of Terror is open from dusk till midnight on Friday & Saturday nights throughout October.  Concessions, bonfire, and limited seating are available.  Fun and fright for the whole family...if you dare.......

Admission $8 (Look for $1 off coupons at local participating 7-11 Stores.)

(Not recommended for small children, but enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and a seat by the bonfire as you watch the "victims" exit--that's a hoot, too!)

Oatsie's a local Kochville farmer, located on the east side of Bay Rd.  He's been farming this land his whole life, and he can tell you a thing or two about the area.  He works hard, from sun up to sun down, as farmers do.  His face and hands show the weathered wear of many a good day's work.  His heart and soul are into farming.

And he's easy to find--he's been selling his produce out of his old, red pick-up truck, on the corner of Michigan & Tittabawassee Rds. for years now, daily from about 12:30pm to 6:00pm.

Oatsie's a quiet man with much to say...Stop in and see him sometime, get your fall harvest stock, and have a little visit--guaranteed to set your day right.

Retirement Party For Kochville Township's
Sharon Wilkens Schafer An Endearing Farewell
The retirement party for Sharon Wilkens Schafer, hosted by some of her Kochville friends, and held at the township hall, was an endearing tribute to a wonderful person, and an extremely proficient office manager.  Sharon served the township for nearly 19 years and through numerous administrations.  Her years of dedication, loyalty, and professionalism are truly appreciated by all; and in recognition, the Kochville Township Board officially designated Wednesday, June 23, 2010 as Sharon Wilkens-Schafer Day.  Thank-you, Sharon, for your many years of service.  Enjoy life's journey and farewell.

Get Wet & Get Air!
at Saginaw's New Splash & Skate Parks!
On August 26, 2010, the City of Saginaw celebrated its Grand Opening of the Mershon-Whittier Splash Park, at Celebration Square, home of the former Andersen Water Park.  Fanfare was heavy, with piped-in music; free hot dogs, pop and popcorn; activity booths; a free raffle for Saginaw Spirit and Great Lakes Loons tickets; and, of course the park's main features--the wet and wacky splash playland, and a special preview of the most awesome skate park!  The splash park is especially suited for the younger kids, while the skate park--still under construction, and an impressive concrete work of art (word on the street has it that skilled craftsmen came all the way from California to finish the sculpted concrete!)--is geared to the older kids, and accommodates skates, skate boards, and bikes.

A special ceremony and dedication were held during the celebration to thank the many people and organizations that helped make it all happen, with many of the area's leading dignitaries present.  The weather cooperated fully with lots of sunshine, and a nice breeze to boot!  Click here for the full photo album.
